Little do many of the winter ski revelers know that Niseko is only a 45 minutes drive to the coast Being on a small island, you have two coasts to choose from, the Sea of Japan or Pacfic Ocean. Both areas are beautiful in their unique rugged way.  The Japanese coastline is a sight for any visitor - vertical cliffs, unbelievably deep forest greens and super clear water. On the Sea of Japan side, the fishing is unbelievable. A key spot is Shakotan, about 1.5hrs drive from Niseko. The bed and breakfast (a Ryokan called Uni-Ya) there is owned by a local fisherman who serves up the best sushi I would say in all of Hokkaido. Fish are caught at 6am and on your plate by lunch - the ultimate in fresh sushi. Many current Niseko property owners are making their way up in summer to experience the green side of Niseko and its surrounding areas.

Nisade is opening its premium ski-in ski-out apartment for showing during Chinese New Year.

Traveling to Niseko just gets easier.

Niseko’s closest international airport, Chitose, will open its extensive upgrades on March 26th. The long awaited new international terminal services direct flights from Beijing, Dailan, Shanghai, Seoul, Busan, Taipei, Guam and Hong Kong. With the ever growing Hong Kong and Beijing tourism markets, Niseko property owners are delighted about the upgrade. Further airport upgrades are happening at Haneda airport, Japan’s domestic hub, adding an international terminal that increases flights from 285,000 to 407,000 per year.

The Vale Niseko is hot property, with sales this season already exceeding expectation. Five sales in two days.

Just recently relaunched, the ski in ski out properties in The Vale Niseko are selling quickly. We are seeing interest from both overseas and in-house guests who have stayed and bought on the spot. Nisade views this buyer splurge as confirmation of the rarity of quality, luxury, ski in ski out properties in Asia. Buyers are purchasing not only because of location but also due to amenity. The Vale’s outdoor heated pool (only one in Niseko), private onsens, international restaurant, chic lobby and apres ski terrace have been a driver in reason to purchase over a other typical Niseko apartments and houses.

Niseko properties have been blanketed by over 80cm of dry Niseko powder the past three days. The super efficient Niseko powder provided a fantastic open day for this years season kick off. Niseko properties have been blanketed the past week with around two feet of powder - topped off with sunshine and Yen2000 lifts tickets, many a local were grinning ear to ear. Niseko accommodation in peak season is looking very close to full in many parts of the village. This season looks set to be a blinder with at least three new bars opening in the top village, two new apartment complexes and a host of new guest services.
